I'm following the writing prompts on NaBloPoMo over there----------------->
Today they are asking my favorite poem. It was a toss up between Poe's The Raven and Samuel Taylor Coleridge 's The Rime of The Ancient Mariner. I guess I have to go with the albatross this time.
I always remember this part:
Day after day, day after day,
We stuck, nor breath nor motion;
As idle as a painted ship
Upon a painted ocean.
Water, water, everywhere,
And all the boards did shrink;
Water, water, everywhere,
Nor any drop to drink.
I first read this poem in high school. Here's me and part of my class at our reunion this past summer

I knew about Poe, but Coleridge too?
