And the Doctor Said 329/365

Have you ever just had a feeling something might be horribly wrong with you? Not in a truly "Oh I feel bad something must be wrong" kind of way, but a "That's one too many coincidences" kind of way? I did, but luckily I was MISTAKEN!

I know a lot of women here in Colorado Springs who are breast cancer survivors. I see pink ribbons everywhere. I got talked in to my very first mammogram because I have a medical card for a hot minute and I decided "Eh, why not?"

Then I met Sabrina at the airport plane last week and she just found out she had breast cancer. It kind of shook me up and made me worry more than I would have because I felt like maybe I met and bonded with her for some reason other than happenstance.

Oh man...I do not wanna go have my mammys grammed now. But I told myself to GET OVER IT and GO!

The whole ordeal wasn't near as unpleasant as I feared. I got in fairly quick after a short wait ( during which TWO yes TWO women asked me about my knitting OMG I love that) and the actual squeeze box only hurt on the side shot and not my boob, my armpit. Wham Bam thank you maam!

I basically put it out of my mind until today when I went back to see my DR and get my blood work results. My blood pressure is still up, I need Vitamin D, my cholesterol sucks but by jiggy, my breasts are still dense and healthy...woooooooo!
Here I am in the latest get-your-boobies-smooshed atire.

So I can rest easy about one thing. The boobs are good.

Confucious Say...327/365

We ate at the Asian Buffet on Academy and Vickers. Ugh! The place was filthy and the steam tables not turned up. If I wasn't so hungry I would have left. Definitely not going back there again.

Home to Colorado 323/365

I bet you thought I was never coming back, didn't ya? Well I did. I got home yesterday after a rousing time at Midway airport and a delayed plane. Deanna and I headed north about 8:00 AM. Did real good until we hit some traffic and construction on Cicero Ave. We over shot the airport by a block, got turned around and went straight to where we needed to be. I hugged her goodbye and went on in to do the check-in/security thing. All was well until I checked the departures board...DELAY UGH! I remained calm even after talking to the gate person about my flight to Colorado Springs waiting in Denver (We will put you on the next flight if you miss it).

At least I had only one seat mate, a nice young lady who offered her cheese thingies to me halfway through. I love those Frontier planes. They have TVs in the seats lol! I watched the free preview but didn't want to pay $6 for two hours worth of  TV I can see here at home. I busied myself listening to music and writing in my moleskine.

We were allowed off the plane first and ran like heck to try to catch our flight. Got stopped halfway there and were informed we missed it....go to Customer Service. OK...guess what? We got $100 flight vouchers and only had to wait a little while for the next plane south. I can live with that! I walked North in terminal A and got Quiznos, called Jack and told him to go ahead and go home until I called him back (he was at the COS airport waiting).

Down at Gate A62 I met a nice lady named Sabrina from Pueblo who had been on my Chicago flight. We bonded after I made her look at all my vacation pictures lol. She didn't have as good as vacation as me. Bummer. I got her phone number and we're gonna keep in touch.

The little prop plane was all that I remembered. It wasn't near as scary as the first time.

Guitar at Sharie's 315/365

The computer here at Deanna's house is in her bedroom. Last night she went to bed before I remembered that I didn't post. This makes me think maybe I really do need a laptop. However, that would be just one more thing to carry.

I booked my flight home finally. I leave from Midway in Chicago next Tuesday and after a transfer in Denver come right in to Co Springs just in time for Jack to pick me up after work. It was driving people insane that I had no definite plans on the return thing lol.

Here I am playing guitar for Sharie's grandkids Saturday evening.

This is the whole crew...six grandkids and an extra child thrown in for good measure

Fearless in Indiana (and everywhere else too) 314/365

When I go back to Colorado I will try not to worry about Grandchild #7, aka miss Fearless. We took a day trip over to Franklin Co Indiana where we used to live. Sadie loved all creatures great and small and would gladly  have gone over the side of the mountain to see what she could see if we had let her.

Jamming at Frogfest 2010 311/365

I learned to play guitar alone, sitting upstairs on my bed. it took me YEARS to be able to sing for anyone. This marks a milestone for me. I actually WANTED to get on stage and play for an audience. Not only the people in the room but a live broadcast available worldwide on I had a blast! This is me and Josh doing Kryptonite.
