WTH is up with the Freaking USPS!?! 120/365

I went to mail a letter containing two knitting magazines, some knitting needles and some other stuff. Grand weight, 1 lb 3OZ...total cost to mail $8.10...Yeah I don't THINK SOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Solution...come home split it down into two large envelopes. One @ $2.58 one @ $2.24. You know they gripe coz people don't use their services then they stick it to you so bad you have to find alternative ways to get what you have to where it needs to go. This has caused me way too much stress.

Had a few minutes after church waiting for Jack. Clicked a few pictures. This one wasn't too bad. You can see the offending envelopes in my book bag. Grrrr.

Curse of the 2nd Sock and a Challenge to Leslie 117/365

The problem with knitting socks is once you get the first one done you have to make the second one. I got myself to knit two at a time a few years ago but hey, that was a few years ago and I fell back into my single sock ways. Never again:|

Here's my challenge to Leslie who is also posting a new pic of herself everyday...TOP THIS ONE SISTER!!!!

Knittin on Da Bus 116/365

When attempting to post a picture of yourself everyday you must take advantage of every opportunity. You must also not be afraid to ask others to take the picture for you. After said picture is taken you must then be prepared to crop the stupid face you made and your fat stomach out of the picture so you aren't afraid to actually post it. Any questions?

Shadow Dance 115/365

I spent the day shuffling paperwork, trying, (I said TRYING!!!) to organize this studio, doing laundry again, sewing CQ blocks, finishing more Anti valentines, playing my guitar for my camfrog friends, burning supper and playing around on facebook putting up fake pictures of my friends and family. SO PRODUCTIVE!!!

So I have no new picture of myself to post. Good thing I have about a million stashed back for just this occasion.

Playing The Klingon Guitar 112/365

In honor of Winterfest Weekend I am posting a picture of me from 2002 playing a BC Rich or as I liked to call it "The Klingon Guitar". It belonged to my cousin Michael....I'm playing the song Kryptonite by Three Doors Down, the same song that has earned me 38,000+ hits on youtube.

I took Jack to Ruth's stitchery today to see the PPQG challenge quilts. Took? HA! I had to DRAGGGGGGGGGGGG him there. Then he surprised me by closely examining several quilts in the shop and telling me what he liked and didn't like. He checked out fabrics and all around acted like he would fit right in at quilt guild LOL! He even picked out a cross stitch picture he wants me to ask my SISTER JUDY (Hellooooooooo are you listening?) to do for him. I feel a new quilt project coming on! A nice masculine wildlife quilt designed by my ever surprising husband, Jack.

Quilt Guild Day 109/365

Leslie picked me up early for the PPQG meeting. For the uninitiated that's the Piecing Partner's Quilt Guild.

Some people go to the meeting to see the quilts and hear the speakers.

Me- I go to eat and knit, grab things off the Put and Take table, and socialize.

But seriously, I did get up and share my story of the quilt I won at the Rossville Sesquicentennial last summer. Did you hear that story?

Cheryl had a bunch of frequent flier miles wasting away so she booked us a flight to Indy so we could attend the town we graduated from's 150th Anniversary. She was great- got the hotel, rental car, fed me and even bought me raffle tickets for the quilt they were giving away. Guess who won? That would be ME!

The quilt top was found in one of my favorite teacher's house, Mr Carl Hunt. It's estimated to be about 75 years old. One of my LEAST FAVORITE teachers, Mrs. Nancy Cox finished the quilt. Now I sleep under it every night. Luckily I don't have nightmares of GAA or PE class.

Pining For My Smokehouse 107/365

The year was 2004. I had been living in Chicago with my mom and aunt and working for a wrought iron supplier and fabricator. Things were not going well. At work I was being asked to do telephone sales among other things not in my job description. At home I was choking to death on cigarette smoke (couldn't even open a window DO NOT get me started on this). I was traveling 120 miles one way on weekends to see Jack and mourning when I had to go back north. Not happy, not happy.

Then in June I had to come back downstate for my oldest son's wedding. Jack took the incentive to see that I stayed there.

This is "The Smokehouse" that sits behind Grandma Halley's house. Jack fixed it up for me and made a rule of NO KIDS ALLOWED. Eventually we decreed they couldn't even come on the steps leading up to the door. It was my haven. I decorated it in my favorite Cowboy and Indian theme. Everyone who saw it loved it.

My mom came over after the wedding. I showed her my smokehouse and she said  "You're not coming home are you?"

Nope.

I had to leave the smokehouse behind when I moved to Colorado. That's OK, it lives in my heart.

My 365 is me getting ready for Gabe's Wedding. I called it "I am not amused" but I can't remember why.

You have seen pictures of Deanna but have you seen Brian? Here he is with me a couple of years ago being a good sport (oh my the poses we set him up in on that trip)

My Old Profile Pic and some new etsy listings 103/365

I listed a few things on etsy today. My Anti-Valentines, a rubbing from a gravestone I got at the Arc a few years ago and my warm soft shawl with REAL angora in it. My 365 pic is the one I used for my profile when I first found the Acoustic Pond jamming in a textiles chat room on yahoo.

Sunshine Therapy 101/365

How to make yourself feel better when you are sick with a dang earache/cold/what-the-hell-ever-else I have....Go sit in the sun and knit!

Vera brought me some Tei-Fu oil for my ailments. I don't know if it worked or the massive dose of ibuprofen but I am feeling marginally better. I know the sunshine definitely helped my mood if not my immune system.

60's today and hopefully tomorrow. I want to go downtown on the bus to take care of business. So looking forward to getting back into my old routines.

The Good, The Bad and the Downright Painful 100/365

Wow 100 days of posting pictures of myself...that's GOOD.

Not being able to do a giveaway because of an excruciating earache...that's BAD.

Can you guess what the PAINFUL is?

I will do a giveaway at 150 if I haven't driven a double pointed knitting needle through my skull first. (It's that bad I swear kinda like a toothache but in a different spot)

Oh yeah! The really really GOOD new is Jack got called back to work!  Whew. Hopefully I can enjoy my alone time during the day now and not late at night.

The Black Shawl 99/365

This is the first shawl I made after I moved to Colorado. I ended up giving it to my friend ponyjones in Indiana and she wore it on stage playing music! (At  least I hope she did lol)
