Let's not debate, let's just go with it, OK? Technically edgings, you could use these as doilies in the right setting. Once again I am asking you to think outside the box with me.

This butterfly was probably made for a pillowcase. You could use it as a small doily. Yes you can, coz I said so. Look, just because it's not round or oval or square doesn't mean you can't use it. It would look great in a vignette with some other vintagey goodies. Now get back to work/knitting/cooking/gardening/collecting or whatever other important stuff it is that you do.
