Blizzard Update

We interrupt this Pressure filled blog series to update on the blizzard/arctic pulse. I am fine and well but eating myself silly as a result of some sort of survival instinct. I got some things done though and have been playing my guitar, painting, knitting, reading, semi-organizing stuff and testing the little flowerpot heater (works great!)

Dogs n Stuff(ed Cats) 104/365

So I have decided that this year since I am not actively adding to my physical stash of fabric, beads and yarns, I would actively add to my stash of life experiences My friend from high school, Cheryl, called and asked if I wanted to drive up to Elizabeth,CO with her to help move some dog crates for a friend who has a bad back... well SURE!. We stopped at Panda Express for some body fuel and took a nice drive on HWY 83 north. We turned East past the Palmer Divide and can you say KANSAS!?! Colorado is not all mountains let me tell you.

At the house were we greeted by this:

I also got my picture taken with a stuffed bobcat...tell me I don't know how to live LOL!

After the hauling of the dog crates and tearful goodbyes (One girl was moving to California) we drove back south down HWY 83 looking at the beautiful mountains again. We stopped at Cottonwood Creek Recreation Center to watch Mike play a miserable inning of softball. It was freakin cold!!!!!!

I had five messages on my answering to deal with when I got home but I had fun. Now it's off to the bathtub for a nice long soak and off to bed to recover. I hope I don't dream about escalators again.

The Art of the Deep Freeze 67/365

It's still cold. I mean really cold. I went out to try to capture my breathe but it was so cold and the camera took so long on night settings I took a couple of shots and gave up. I played around with this one in Photoshop...the top picture is using a filter called Fresco then I inverted the colors to make it more Brrrrrrrrrrrish. You do see my nose on the left don't you?

Jack worked out in the sub zero temps again last night. He's off now that the snow is mostly cleared. I met his other new boss today. Nice guy and his dog was really smart. And me without my camera to prove it. Dang.

It's a Nice Day for a White Wedding

"Don't move to Colorado...it's cold there!" Uh.... yeah... that's why these people are out in January dressed like this....Don't get me wrong...it gets cold...it just warms up whenever the sun is out. Hard to explain to the flatlanders back in Illinois.
