The first Blog Post I Ever Wrote

Thursday, November 28, 2013
How do you feel about the first blog post you ever wrote?

Extremely sad. If memory serves me right my first blog post happened after my daughter's first boyfriend was killed in a car wreck way back in 2002. It wasn't so long ago that someone found it on the way back machine and asked me about it. That's when I realized that things on the internet don't ever go away.

The next time I started blogging Daily was on Myspace in 2005. I posted a lot of song lyrics with guitar chords. Much much happier about those.

Rock On at The Ogden 221/365

Went to a concert Sunday up in Denver. Hadn't heard of either band really but they rocked. The Script and Safetysuit, if you care.

Sailor's Prayer PANDORA CELTICA 217/365

I worked and worked on this video but couldn't get the audio to work. It kept telling me the file was corrupted. My friend Mike told me to open it in Audacity and save as a .WAV file instead of MP3. SUCCESS!

I met this band at AnomalyCon last year and got to hear this song in the elevator lol

You and Tequila Make Me Crazy 187/365

Here's something I haven't done on this blog but I used to do a lot on my Myspace blogs...post a song I am learning with lyrics and chords. I present for your approval Brad paisley's You and Tequila

You and Tequila
Capo on 2nd Fret.
E
Here I am again, kicking dust in the canyon wind
A                             E
Waiting for the sun to go down
E
Made it up Mulholland Drive, hell-bent on getting high
A                              E
High above the lights of town

B                                  E
You and tequila make me crazy
B                                  E
You run like poison in my blood
B                                  A
One more night might kill me, baby
A                                      {let the A ring, no strum}E
One is one too many, and one more is never enough

E
For 30 days and 30 nights, I've been putting up a real good fight

A                                       E
There were times I thought you'd win
E
It isn't easy to forget the bitter taste morning left
A                                           E
I swore I wouldn't go back there again

B                                  E
You and tequila make me crazy
B                                  E
You run like poison in my blood
B                                     A
One more night might kill me, baby
A                                {let the A ring, no strum}E
One is one too many, and one more is never enough
A
When it comes to you, oh the damage I could do
A                                                E
It's always your favorite sins that do you in
{INSTRUMENTAL BREAK}
B                              E
You and tequila make me crazy
B                                  E
You run like poison in my blood
B                                    A
One more night might kill me, baby
A                                  {let the A ring, no strum}E
One is one too many, and one more is never enough

I am actually doing this to steer your attention away from the fact that I BOUGHT FABRIC at Walmart today...I needed it for the binding on my big 2012 CQ challenge quilt, the peacock blue one. I have the backing and border fabrics but I couldn't come up with a binding fabric from my stash. Yes, I bought it. It felt damn good too.

Bo Bice (What Might Have Been) 159/365

Travel back with me to time not so long ago but very far away, 2005. A year of changes. In January I almost died. In April I took a trip that ultimately resulted in my moving to Colorado. The year of Hurricanes, most notably Katrina.

The first year I watched American Idol. I did not want Carrie Underwood to win. I wanted Bo Bice to win. He did not. She did.

Today by chance I heard the Bo Bice would be playing at Spring Spree at 3 PM. I begged Jack for a ride and got there in the nick of time. My old PTA president was there by herself too....perfect.

Bo Bice was good. Right up till the end when he said he was happy to have been in Denver LOL!

This is the equivalent of clapping in camfrog, a thumbs up.

Jack's New Toy 340/365

Jack came screaming into the tech age today. He got an iTouch 4G from the Apple Store on Powers. We almost pulled our hair out trying to figure out how to get music from my computer on it. It's all good...his play list has 127 songs on it and I will be adding all our Cds to this computer over the next couple of weeks.

It's a mini computer, it really is.

Ben Again 300/365

I grabbed a coffee at Starbucks this week while downtown and guess who was busy busking* outside? Ben! I got a short video and a picture of me mooning over him. Oh my the guy I got to take my pic told me I was vain for posting a picture of myself everyday on here but i told  him it was just a challenge...dork!

* Busking is the practice of performing in public places for tips and gratuities. People engaging in this practice are called buskers. Buskers may also be known as street performers, street musicians, minstrels or troubadours.

Denver Two Times 280/365

Ben....Then and Now 206/365

I ride the train a lot. On one of my trips back east I met a young man with a guitar. Turns out he was/is also from Colorado Springs. I carried the pictures I took of him in my purse for a year hoping to give them to him. I never saw him again until last week. Yay! Now I have to find those pics again and see if I can finally pass them on to him.

Ben Before

Ben Now

This pic is from that same trip. Me and Sue jamming. It was a magical music kind of trip for me.
