100 Days of Doilies Day46

This doily brings back bittersweet memories. I call it "Annie's Doily" because I made one just like it for a friend when she got married. She died of kidney cancer about 10 years ago. So sad.

The wedding was in July...uh, yeah, well, uh...anyway...

The Purple PIllow 64/365

Here is the purple crazy quilt pillow I did for Dennis and Kelli. I hope the spider doesn't freak them out lol. I was going to tell them about the tradition but they didn't open their presents at the reception because they had to catch a plane for their honeymoon or something.

My 365 pic tells how I feel after the death yesterday and news Friday that a friend's son has also died. Bleh

So I was Miss Social Butterfly all weekend and guess what...I caught a cold and/or the flu. I'm hoping for just a cold but only time will tell.

The good news is my dishcloth wedding shower gift was a hit!

Snow Day or Hanging Inside Being Creative 43/365

Yeah so I've been basically trapped inside for two day. I don't particularly care for the crappy weather we've been having. It's OK, I have lots to do!

I cut strips for and sewed them back together for the scrappy flower liberated log cabin. I still have the borders to piece and cut. I wanted it to look very Grandma-like. I think I succeeded.

I made Jack some new potholders from a quilted denim piece my friend Laura bought at Goodwill when she visited. He had been bugging me for the skillet sleeves.

I actually finished the bracelet a few days ago. I really like it. I have enough beads and findings to probably do two more.

This pink wash rags/dish cloths are for Kelli's wedding shower. I have to write down a recipe on a 3 x 5 card for her too. That's coming up the 21st.

For those of you keeping score I have made 12 items in my 100 things-from-stuff-I-have-at-the-house challenge. I'll count the quilt when it's done.

And finally we have my 365 picture taken when I first moved here and decided to shovel snow hahahahaha!

Picking My Knitting Back Up

How can it be Thursday again already? I mean seriously, my last post was a week ago?!?

I have been dealing with this mess on my desk, that much I know. See that cell phone? I had to wait for Fed Ex to deliver it then I had to spend an hour on the website trying to activate it. When that didn't work I spent a half hour on the phone with customer service only to learn they need to send me a new SIM card and then I have to call back and recite a zillion billion numbers to get my case opened back up. Oy Vey! Maybe I should keep my piece o crap phone with the Elvis charm dangling off it. There's no room for Elvis on the new phone :(

My time has also been filled with knitting. I knew the bug would hit me again sooner or later. I finished the two pink/brown tams and I have been working on a doofy hat for Tony/Beef,
a blue cotton sweater for me, and a brown vest for Pam. I made a baby hat too but I'm too lazy to go take a pic. It needs a flower embellishment first anyway.

I also got the blocks for Shane and Jessica's wedding pillow sewed. I was going to do a wall quilt but I thought "Hey a pillow would be cool too. Maybe even cooler" I called my sister and told her and she said "Cool!" so that settled it. I hope to start embroidering those today.
