Forgotten Poems Tsunami In memory of Indonesia 2004

Nine years ago? How can that be? I remember when it happened I thought about this poem. I wrote it in Naples Florida when I was all of 23 years old. I didn't really understand the devastating power but I sure do now. I think I had read something in Reader's Digest about them.

Tsunami-Death Wave

Tsunami
   Your name brings fear
   Into the hearts
   Of those who have known
   Your wrath

Tsunami
   Most terrifying wave of all
   An earthquake
   Is your mother
   Deep waters are your home

Tsunami
   You start as innocent
   As ripples on a pond
   But your energy
   Could kill us all
