RIP Benny Combs

No doilies today. My ex husband, Benny Combs, passed away yesterday. He never thought much of my crocheting. He did play a mean guitar though.

Right before I kicked his sorry butt out of my life back in 2001 I made him one last quilt. He used it until he died and he even said he wanted to be buried with it (or at least that's what I was told. I looked at the quilt Saturday when I went to see him but I don't have a picture of it. Maybe my kids do somewhere.

Cari Dell my Guitar Heroine 238/365

We went to Territory Days. I was a little disappointed at the fact the Civil War people weren't there nor was Brule but my guitar heroine, Cari Dell, was rockin! I got to talk to her and she gave me a promo pic with her phone number on it. I can get electric guitar lessons from her someday hopefully.

Ben....Then and Now 206/365

I ride the train a lot. On one of my trips back east I met a young man with a guitar. Turns out he was/is also from Colorado Springs. I carried the pictures I took of him in my purse for a year hoping to give them to him. I never saw him again until last week. Yay! Now I have to find those pics again and see if I can finally pass them on to him.

This pic is from that same trip. Me and Sue jamming. It was a magical music kind of trip for me.

Hey aren't you....? 121/365

So I went downtown today to mail the dreaded envelopes (HA! I used old stamps. After watching Pawn Stars I realized they were never going to be worth more than face value so why not?). As I was waiting for the light I caught a glimpse of someone behind me I thought looked familiar. I looked again, yep, I think it's her.

"Are you Wendie?" I asked.

"Yes I am," she replied with a puzzled look on her face.

" Hey it's me, Crazy Rebecca!"...Big embrace and lots of laughter.

Wendie and I met on Ravelry through the El Paso County Crafters group. We chatted and walked and I got today's 365 pic.

After I dropped off the current pile 'o books at the library I saw a street musician. I stopped to listen for awhile. Wish I would have had some extra $$$ coz the guy was pretty good.

Playing The Klingon Guitar 112/365

In honor of Winterfest Weekend I am posting a picture of me from 2002 playing a BC Rich or as I liked to call it "The Klingon Guitar". It belonged to my cousin Michael....I'm playing the song Kryptonite by Three Doors Down, the same song that has earned me 38,000+ hits on youtube.

I took Jack to Ruth's stitchery today to see the PPQG challenge quilts. Took? HA! I had to DRAGGGGGGGGGGGG him there. Then he surprised me by closely examining several quilts in the shop and telling me what he liked and didn't like. He checked out fabrics and all around acted like he would fit right in at quilt guild LOL! He even picked out a cross stitch picture he wants me to ask my SISTER JUDY (Hellooooooooo are you listening?) to do for him. I feel a new quilt project coming on! A nice masculine wildlife quilt designed by my ever surprising husband, Jack.
