My first Friend

Wednesday, November 20, 2013

Tell us about your first friend.

I'm thinking my first friend was probably my dog, Queenie. I'm straining my memory looking for the human equivalent but it's not coming. Considering where we lived I'm gonna say it might have been Lorrie, who lived NE of us across the street. Or quite possibly it was my Aunt Karen or one of my Grandparents because they took care of me a lot.

I grew up in a very small town where my family owned an entire block. Then we moved out to the country when I was in 3rd grade and my BFF  was my sister in the winter and Gayle in the summer when we could walk a mile to meet up to play. Yay for friends!

100 Days of Doilies Day 49

This sweet little pansy doilies came from a garage sale at a house in Henning Il I used to spend a lot of time at when I was a kid. I bought it from a gal I hung out with in Jr High. She was blonde and gorgeous and I was skinny and buck toothed. I guess she liked me because I had the approximate same IQ as her LOL!

Up in Cripple Creek 226/365

Did you know you could get breakfast for $.49 at Bronco Billy's? Neither did I!

Cheryl and I went up early and saw some beautiful Aspen trees. We ate breakfast, shopped, got a free snack and left without gambling. Yay us...we're cheap dates!

I shopped today. I needed stuff for my cratf show Oct 8. I couldn't help it. More on that tomorrow.

Roller Derby Steampunk? 220/365

Can those things go together? Short answer...YES! Missile Mountain Roller Derby put on a Steampunk Party and Cheryl and I went. I dressed her in my blue skirt and even let her wear my fancy belt. What are friends for?

Went out to eat then to the flea market with Mike and Cheryl last weekend. These were the only two (barely) usable pictures I got, sorry.

April isn't the Cruelest Month 180/365

"April is the cruelest month, breeding lilacs out of the dead land, mixing memory and desire, stirring dull roots with spring rains." T.S. Eliot

April has generally been good to me. My oldest son was born in April. April showers bring May flowers. Jack even tried to get me to play an April Fool's joke on the landlords. (Couldn't do it, I couldn't keep a straight face although I did fall for an April Fool's from the Independent, a free newspaper here in town)

I went looking for past April pics and came up with this one. Me and my BFF, Laura, at the Garden of the Gods, April 2008.

This picture also fits in with this month's NaBloPoMo theme of BIG...as in DANG! Them's some BIG rocks!

High School Becky 96/365

Just to remind a few people what I used to look like:

I got rid of my worms, I'm OK now.

This picture was in my dad's wallet. That's why it's all stained n stuff.

High School Friends 92/365

I fought getting Facebook for about a year and a half. I finally caved thanks to a friend from grade school (points finger at Julie). I'm so glad I did! I have reconnected with a lot of old friends and family and tonight I just got added by one of my bestest friends ever and I got to add his siblings too. Ahhhh life is good and I am blessed.

Here's me trying to push one of my other best friends from high school off a cliff on Rampart Range Rd...just kidding, I would never harm Cheryl on purpose lol! Now if I could figure out a way to get her off work more so we could hang.....
