The furry hat is a blend of crewel wool all tied together and fun fur. It's cold, snowy and blowy out I should go try it on for size!

Now Working On...
Two doilies, a cable luxe sweater in aubergine (that's purple for those of you not in the know), some embroidery on a weird hat I did and two pairs of socks (no pictures sorry).
The furry hat is a blend of crewel wool all tied together and fun fur. It's cold, snowy and blowy out I should go try it on for size!

And The Weatherman Lied Again
Imagine that.
We woke up to bitter cold, wind and the dreaded white stuff, which was NOT in the forecast. I needed to go to get some double fiber bread but I just stayed home, drank coffee, knit an ugly hat and chillaxed.
It's cuter on Miss Sadie but still not pretty LOL! The good news is Deanna got to witness the miracle of felting!
We're waiting on Deanna to buy batteries for this:
Should be tons of fun!

Faux Snow and Real Snow 205/365
I saw this awesome science program at PTA Conference. The lady had a faux snow that reconstituted in your hands when she added water. It was way cool. Not cool was the snow I woke to yet again today. Sick and tired of it I say!

Surviving PTA Conference 204/365
I was gone this weekend. Did you miss me? Probably not since I used the auto-post thingy. Anyways........ You may or may not know that in January I volunteered to be Secretary of Wasson HS PTA. This past weekend the Treasurer and I went to Colorado PTA State Convention up in Denver. Anybody watch the weather Friday? OMG! Can you say SPRING BLIZZARD!?!
We actually hit a chunk of ice and spun off the road a little past Monument hill before Castle Rock. Hold on Newt she's headed for the barn!!!! But since the air bags didn't deploy and we didn't actually hit the concrete barrier or metal guard rail and we had front wheel drive we just took a deep breathe and drove out of the ditch and on to Denver. (I didn't even pee my pants...two points for me!)
My room....wish Sharie coulda been there with me :(
More later.....

How I Spent My (Stupid) Snow Day 172/365
I stayed up late waiting to see if Jack would get called in to push snow (he didn't) and I slept late thus giving myself another migraine (note to self- do NOT sleep in no matter what). I got some snow pics but mostly I was on my computer and knitting all day. The good news...Jack cooked brunch and supper.
This was going to say "Not Funny" but I went with this next picture instead
Here's my next shawl which I will finish and block during my new Favorite TV show Meteorite Men
I think I can finish my scrappy memory knee socks tonight too!

The Plan 141/365
The plan is to meet Sharie at DIA and go up to Ft Collins with her for tonight and tomorrow night. She'll drop me in Denver Tuesday morning. Hopefully a couple of friends from camfrog can get to the Hard Rock Cafe fur lunch! I'll catch the 3:00PM FREX bus home and Jack will pick me up at the Woodman Park and Ride. That's the plan but will this snow get in the way? This picture is me and Sharie at the energy conference last year.

The 12 Point Balls Blog 128/365
I love love love making these 12 point Celestine balls from Berroco.com. Here's the one I am making from the sock yarn I got from Leslie and a little bit from the skein I bought in Chicago back in 2008 when I visited my mom at the rehab place (the burgundy):
Check out these beads from www.z-beads.com
Look familiar?

It snowed enough to knock Jack off the job site but not enough to have him go push snow. Bummer. The good news is we sold another cane from our etsy shop. We had to spend some money on packing supplies because we couldn't afford to have the shipping place do it for us again. Maybe with the big walking sticks but it looks like we should just do the canes ourselves. We are basically still in the learning phase of this business venture.

Another JackPost 69/365

We went to the Pioneer Museum yesterday and out again today to pick up Jack's check and do some much needed shopping. Jack wanted to show me his snow stuff from earlier this week so I let him. Here's a bunch of Jack pictures lol.

Snow Frog 26/365

Made a snow frog for my friends in camfrog today then got the idea to do the little animated thingy for my 365 pic . OMG I slay myself:|
Anyways here's the snow frog/snow turkey.
ETA: I have been told that this is not in fact a snow frog or snow turkey but a mutant mass of cold white frozen water molecules that happens to have buggy eyes and a pink scarf.

Snow Shawl 25/365

I live in Colorado. It snows early here. We love it coz we'll take moisture in any form we can get it in. I guess we'll just stay home and watch it fall.
Dakota humored me and took this picture. This is the shawl that lives on the back of my chair ready to warm me up when needed. I got the yarn at the Dollar Tree on 19th and Uintah. Can't beat paying $1 for a $6 ball of yarn!

Again with the cookies 17/365

Jack has me scared. He says Branden Borremans from KKTV says that a snow storm is coming. (This straight from Twitter...it must be true..."Meteorologist Branden Borremans says we're expecting a system that could bring rain and snow to the area. Expect it late Tues into Wed.") You know what that means don't ya? COOKIES!!! Must bake cookies. Must eat cookies! Ok I got that out of my system...move along...there's nothing to see here...
We have been busy little bees (besides baking and pigging out). See the display Jack built me? Ain't it sweet? (Special thanks to my sister, Judy, for suggesting the cardboard cutout thingy) He's working on one to hold the walking sticks too. I have to cut some felt strips to glue on the inside of the circles so the sticks won't get scratched. I'll get to that after I finish this cookie :P

Scouting for Campsites
We went up towards Cripple Creek looking at campsites yesterday. Some had too much snow and some were too public but we did see a couple of possibilities. I even had Jack stop so I could go ask some campers about their setup. We're going back to Woodland Park this afternoon to check out a couple of more.
PS The deer aren't like the ones back in Illinois. This young buck and his mother didn't even flinch when we drove by and were still grazing in the same spot when we came back. (Oh if only the ones I had hit had remained in the ditch!)

Me At the Quilt Guild and Walking with Silas

I thought I'd include a serious picture of me for once (You know instead of one of me in a doofy hat :P) Cheryl took this one at quilt guild Wednesday morning.
The other picture is my neighbor, Silas. Silas is two and he and his mommy and I went for a walk Wednesday evening. He's a sweetie for sure!
Right now it is it SNOWING like a mo fo again. *sigh* one of these days it will be spring for real and I can plant some seeds out in my garden beds.

#@*% Snow!!!!
It finally happened...for once in my life I got what I wished for. Then of course I found out I really didn't want it after all...what's up with that?!?Last week I told Jack since he would be off work for two days for Thanksgiving and we weren't required to be a anywhere that I hope it snowed like hell. BITE YOUR TONGUE!!! Uh yeah...I got my stupid wish...snow Thursday, Friday and Sunday into Monday thus knocking Jack out of a day of work which WE CAN'T AFFORD!!!!!
It might be different if I could actually get anything done when he is here...but I can't so today I found myself 5 days behind in just about everything.
