Prospect Lake at Memorial Park 273/365
Vickie called me around noon and asked if I wanted to go to Memorial Park to walk around Prospect Lake a couple of times. SURE! Never mind that it was 90+ and humid, there was shade and a nice breeze off the water. Mmmmmmmm smells like Lake Vermilion at the Grotto when I was little.
Oh look...a squirrel!

Street breakfast, Downtown Colorado Springs

I don't have a lot of traditions in my life, but one thing I do try to do every year is attend the Street Breakfast downtown at Tejon and Pikes Peak. The soldiers from Ft Carson cook a field breakfast of powdered eggs and pancakes and you get milk, coffee or juice to drink. Chute Nine plays their unique brand of country mixed with rock and roll and
if you've never sat on a bale of straw...this is your chance! I focused on the Range Riders this year. It's thrilling to see them head out on their annual ride up Pikes Peak. The parade lasetd about 5 1/2 minutes. I video taped it but haven't decided on whether or not to post it on youtube yet. Oh my, the sight of Cavalrymen really does something to me!

Up to Pam's Cabin

Pam invited me to go see her cabin. How could I refuse!?! Great weather, sports car, free lunch...well wouldn't you go too? At Divide go right instead of left to Cripple Creek. Beautiful scenery there and back. The only bad thing is I got absolutely no work done today besides a load of laundry and a shower. I need to get busy and go water plants. ( o0O I wish we had seen a bear)NEWS UPDATE!!! IT SEEMS THERE IS A WILD FIRE BURNING NEAR PAM'S CABIN. i SWEAR TO GOD I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT!!!!

Union Printer's Home Colorado Springs

My friend Pam's mother lives at The Union Printer's Home on Union Blvd in Colorado Springs. I have driven by it many times and always wanted to go in an take some pictures. Pam invited me to go with her to visit Miss Jean last Thursday so I jumped on the chance and snapped away! There is a wealth of history in the halls downstairs. If you ever get the chance to stop you really should. The residents love visits. You can even bring your pets!

Police Drama and what I learned from it
Friday Dec 5, 2008 we had a slight POLICE DRAMA in front of our house. A guy was shot and killed and wrecked right by my alley...yikes!!! Here are the videos if you want to see them...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8o6nBBHJaE
Here's my TOP Ten List of things I learned about it....
10. Everyone loves a good shooting/car wreck!
9. Closing Constitution Ave messes up a lot of people’s travel plans.
8. People will assume YOU are the one who did the shooting.
7. You can’t always get on TV no matter how hard you wave at the camera.
6. Flashing red and blue lights look good against a mountain backdrop.
5. Your driveway parking privileges may be revoked at any time.
4. Gunshots sound a lot like your neighbor banging on his Ford truck with a hammer.
3. The more anxious you are to get exciting video uploaded the more your computer will lag, freeze and not co-operate.
2. Your pizza might get cold if you wait an hour to go get it.
And the #1 thing I learned from this whole thing….They don’t let ya keep crime scene tape.
