My offering for March for the CQJP is a block that has been glued, not stitched. At times I had my doubts which is why I don't have any pictures of the work in progress. Today I finished it up while my computer was defragmenting the hard drive. Gluing things to within an inch of their lives helps with computer separation anxiety lol!
I used some autumn toned fabrics, watch bands that came in a jar of goodies from an antique store, an earring, plastic beads, vintage buttons, gimp braid, vintage trim and about 1/4 of a bottle of Tacky Glue. This will be decoupaged onto a book called Oldest Living Confederate Widow Tells All by Allan Gurganus I bought at the library for $1 and will eventually become #3 in my Art Journal series.

The Next CQ Book Cover for February CQJP
Why in the world is purple so hard to photograph? I took about 25 shots to get this one and I'm still not happy with it. Oh well. Much prettier in person, as they say.

CQJP January Submission
Sometimes I can't think outside the box very well. I found a blank journal one of the vendors was giving away up at the energy conference and I decided it would make a great place to start the CQJP thingy....too bad I forgot to take a picture of the blank journal. (My brain still isn't functioning too well after the wreck. I am not physically hurt but mentally I am in shambles.)
Anyways.......... I covered the journal and now I think I will add all my upcoming blocks into it. I can glue a few pages together to make them stronger (something I learned from a book called Altered Art by Terry Taylor I checked out of the library). I can also keep a diary if I so choose. Wow.... a plan. Plans are good.

Progress and an Unexpected Feature 184/365
I have been embellishing away on the peacock/teal/blue/gold Crazy Quilt Blocks.
In a surprise bit of accidental advertising, I got featured on an ezine yesterday. The Color Confidence is my blurb.

T-Bird CQ Block 121/365
I get by with a little help from my friends. My Sharpie marker friends lol. It's for a real He-Man type principal so no fancy work. I'll just embroider WHS and 2010-2011 on it, frame it out in black, slap on a back and call it good.

Steampunk Outfit #3 in the Works 101/365
I started making the fabric for my next steampunk outfit. I need 2 1/2 yards of 44" fabric for the Charlie Jacket and a butt load of blocs for the skirt.
This is the Charlie Jacket. Leslie has the pattern.
Here's how I got started piecing the blocks. #1 gather fabrics, threads and foundation squares.
#2 Star piecing. I need to make the pieces smaller for the jackets. It'll be good, I promise.

Purple Crazy Quilt Needle Case 98/365
I had the block for this embellished quite a while ago but I couldn't find my felt (naturally). In looking for something else the bag of felt came to light so I finished it. Yay me!
Good news. I not only sold those three bundles I posted about yesterday but I also sold two more. Yay me again!

Plugging Along on Pink Black and White Blocks 88/365
Tuesday night is my night to watch TV. I like Chopped and What Not to Wear among other things. I worked on these blocks and a pair of socks for myself.

Waste Not Want Not Steampunk Bags 85/365
I still have CQ fabric left over ...working it down slowly. A project bag to carry my knitting and supplies and a jewelry bag.
As this posts I will be in Denver recovering from a long day of Victorian Sci-Fi fun. Lots of pictures to come!

Steampunk Clutch CQ Style 83/365
The Steampunk adventure marches on! Today I made a clutch to carry my business cards and knitting needles to Anomaly Con Saturday. I'm working for Erin in the booth she has for her Sherlock Holmes Sock of the Month Club, in case I didn't mention that before.
I am seriously thinking I should make some of these to put it my etsy shop!

Fighting with The Dreaded Kick Pleat 82 /365
Today I finished the last of the CQ fabric for my skirt and assembled it. I did OK until I got to the Kick pleat. The instructions are vague to say the least and frantic phone calls and emails to Leslie didn't prove fruitful.
The kick pleat fought a noble fight but I won.
This is how the main part (front, front sides and back sides) and the part with that damn pleat looked before they got married.
