You and Tequila Make Me Crazy 187/365

Here's something I haven't done on this blog but I used to do a lot on my Myspace blogs...post a song I am learning with lyrics and chords. I present for your approval Brad paisley's You and Tequila

You and Tequila
Capo on 2nd Fret.
E
Here I am again, kicking dust in the canyon wind
A                             E
Waiting for the sun to go down
E
Made it up Mulholland Drive, hell-bent on getting high
A                              E
High above the lights of town

B                                  E
You and tequila make me crazy
B                                  E
You run like poison in my blood
B                                  A
One more night might kill me, baby
A                                      {let the A ring, no strum}E
One is one too many, and one more is never enough

E
For 30 days and 30 nights, I've been putting up a real good fight

A                                       E
There were times I thought you'd win
E
It isn't easy to forget the bitter taste morning left
A                                           E
I swore I wouldn't go back there again

B                                  E
You and tequila make me crazy
B                                  E
You run like poison in my blood
B                                     A
One more night might kill me, baby
A                                {let the A ring, no strum}E
One is one too many, and one more is never enough
A
When it comes to you, oh the damage I could do
A                                                E
It's always your favorite sins that do you in
{INSTRUMENTAL BREAK}
B                              E
You and tequila make me crazy
B                                  E
You run like poison in my blood
B                                    A
One more night might kill me, baby
A                                  {let the A ring, no strum}E
One is one too many, and one more is never enough

I am actually doing this to steer your attention away from the fact that I BOUGHT FABRIC at Walmart today...I needed it for the binding on my big 2012 CQ challenge quilt, the peacock blue one. I have the backing and border fabrics but I couldn't come up with a binding fabric from my stash. Yes, I bought it. It felt damn good too.

Walmart Corrects a Heinous Mistake 172/365

Yep, Walmart brought back it's fabric department in at least two of our local stores. OMG can you believe it? I wonder who made that decision thus correcting the royal screw up of downsizing their craft depts everywhere. (I bow to the 8th Street Walmart who never did give up the ghost)

Wooohooooo! Wow I hope they keep them long enough that I can buy fabric again at these low prices LOL! maybe I should hurry up and sew up what I have so as to be able to purchase more eh?

Sorting UFOs and Other Stuff 57/365

I pulled out the solid fabrics today to see what I had. Enough for (???) at least two nice sized quilt tops, maybe a double sided quilt would work. Also stashed in there were two nine patch wall quilt tops and some hand pieced monkey wrench blocks I got from the dreaded Put and Take Table at quilt guild last year.

The Slightest of Dents has been Made 45/365

I finally noticed a little dent in my stash. See where the yarn is disappearing? Yay! Now to work on that fabric above it. I'm thinking a nice Amish style quilt or two or five.

Helping me stay ON TRACK 25/365

Wow I dreamed I found a massive bag of purple/rose seed beads at a thrift store for $4.99. I was making every excuse in the book to buy it but in the end I put it down... Dang I'm strong!

Jack doesn't think so...when he saw me looking at the Hancock Fabric flier he demanded I hand it over LOL!

Know Thy Enemy 3/365

In order to avoid adding to my stash I need to do the following.

  1. Unsubscribe from the Jo-Ann and Michaels weekly ads. Stay away from www.hobbylobby.com.
  2. That being said, stay far away from all actual Jo Anns, Michaels and Hobby Lobby brick and mortar stores.
  3. Definitely stay away from the craft sections of any thrift stores I might wander in to. No looking for prom dresses, silk shirts or velvet skirts either.
  4. Don't even glance towards the put and take table at quilt guild meetings.
  5. Avoid yard sales.
  6. Avoid giving in to Leslie when she offers up her stash sacrifices.
  7. Look at things with a new eye. Search for upcycling ideas and free patterns online.
  8. Ask people to slap me if they see me even looking like I MIGHT try to buy yarn, fabric or beads.

And So it Begins 1/365

2011. Who woulda thunk it?

My year to use up my stash instead of admiring it. The Yarn Harlot would be mortified.

I'm oddly at peace with this decision, although I did make a few last minute emergency purchases of beads and storage boxes. I have been slowly taking inventory too but I will leave some of that to the surprise of discovery.

I plan on gifting a lot of things so if you feel you need something let me know.

Box #1- contains novelty yarns and a few fabrics.

A sampling of what I added to my stash when I was in Illinois…hmmmmmmmmmmm, wasn’t I
supposed to NOT do that? My bad. I’ll start again now with the 100 thing challenge.
Be sure and keep an eye on my page here for updates.

I am NOT a slacker (I just play one on the Internet)

Yo people! Lest you think I have been slacking off in my absence from posting and other online activities THINK AGAIN!

Here's a short list of what I have been doing...I will try to name the pictures in order.

#1) Working on Leslie's Ravens and Roses Moley for the IME. Not working on the hat as I don't "knit hats for sailors for Lent":P

#2) I cut purple and yellow for art quilts

#3) I cut purple and silver/gray after an extensive search told me these will be hot colors for 2009

#4) Sewed blocks inspired by a friend's outfit. She better not sit in front of me again wearing it. I might cut it right off her back >:)

#5) Gathering all extra blocks sewn from remainders of my kit samples for possible sale at quilt guild or on etsy.com

#6) Working on the Celtic Autumn kit sample inspired by the trims and fabrics from Leslie

#7) Knitting on my Cable Luxe Tunic

#8) Working on a doofy hat in the darkest blue for my dancing buddy, Babs (I love you smookums xoxoxoxoxxo no it's not for Warrin... it never was... it was always for you you you)

Well I tried this twice. I have no clue where the last 6 pictures went. I guess blogger ate them. Maybe another time or maybe I'll follow Christina's lead and find somewhere else to blog
