I Forgot to Pay the Ransom for Little Debbie
My boss is quite the funny gal. I found this on my desk when I got to work one day last month. She found my stash of zebra cakes.
The next note was even more ominous:
I hope my boss doesn't end up looking like this:
I hope she sends me to WalMart for snacks soon, My desk drawer stash is mighty puny.

Bad Habits
Friday,
November 15, 2013
If you
could quit one bad habit instantly without difficulty, which would it be?
I'd change my eating habits. The ones that impel me to eat sugary or salty snacks that I KNOW I am NOT supposed to eat but I can't help it waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
This is how I feel about cake, cookies, chips, brownies etc etc etc.

Five Things in my Refridgerator
Tuesday,
November 12, 2013
Name five
things inside your refrigerator right now and how you feel about them.
Okay seriously? Who thought this one up? Whatever. I'll play.
- Can of beer I just HAD TO HAVE yet never drank. What's up with that lol? I feel like I should keep it because I fought so hard for it.
- Some peppers from the garden I helped with this past summer. I'm proud of them.
- A ham I bought in case my son comes to visit. It's a good thing and I love it a lot.
- The coffee canister I use to hold scraps. One of my all time favorite things. It makes me feel like I'm doing something right when I put my coffee grounds and eggshells in it to take out to the compost pile.
- REAL BUTTER. 'Nuff said

A Day of Mourning 121/365
No, not for Osama Bin Laden. I have no comment on his death. I am in mourning for one of my favorite restaurants, Red Hot and Blue. I heard from a friend that it might be closed and when we checked it out, sure enough it was. How dare they! We don't have a BBQ joint to call our own now. Famous Dave's? PFFFFFFFFT! Too crowded, too expensive, don't like the ambiance. *Sigh*
In other news...had a message on my answering machine that wemight not probably won't have time to give away my gift bags. OK now tell me why we can't take 5 minutes to draw 12 names? BS I say. I just had Dakota write down 6 men and 6 women he likes at the school. If it turns out we really can't draw names I'll just give the gifties to those persons.
Going to bed so I can be at the school by 7 AM to set up for Staff Appreciation Day. They don't know what they are missing from me. No time indeed!

Confucious Say...327/365
WHO WRITES THESE THINGS?
We ate at the Asian Buffet on Academy and Vickers. Ugh! The place was filthy and the steam tables not turned up. If I wasn't so hungry I would have left. Definitely not going back there again.

For lack of anything better 253/365
My meal at Red Lobster last weekend. Jack got a gift card from Mypoints so we splurged. Cheryl says her brother, Jimmy, calls it Dead Lobster.

Red Hot and Blue BBQ at its Finest 173/365
Jack didn't work again today (oh thank you, snow, you just keep giving and giving) but he might have to work Saturday so we went for groceries and other sundries today. But first, lunch at my fav non-breakfast establishment, Red Hot and Blue at Academy and Austin Bluffs. The food is fabulous, the service is good and the atmosphere is excellent. We got a free dinner for signing up for their email list.Who wants to do lunch?

The Making of the Colcannon 158/365
I asked Leslie for an Irish recipe and she suggested colcannon. Made from mashed potatoes, cabbage and ham and scallions, my version came from Food Network's Tyler's Ultimate. It was yummy!
I'm also grabbing a little trick Leslie uses for her 365 pictures the old "here's-my-hand-yes-it-counts" maneuver!

Quilt Guild Day 109/365
Leslie picked me up early for the PPQG meeting. For the uninitiated that's the Piecing Partner's Quilt Guild.
Some people go to the meeting to see the quilts and hear the speakers.
Me- I go to eat and knit, grab things off the Put and Take table, and socialize.
But seriously, I did get up and share my story of the quilt I won at the Rossville Sesquicentennial last summer. Did you hear that story?
Cheryl had a bunch of frequent flier miles wasting away so she booked us a flight to Indy so we could attend the town we graduated from's 150th Anniversary. She was great- got the hotel, rental car, fed me and even bought me raffle tickets for the quilt they were giving away. Guess who won? That would be ME!
The quilt top was found in one of my favorite teacher's house, Mr Carl Hunt. It's estimated to be about 75 years old. One of my LEAST FAVORITE teachers, Mrs. Nancy Cox finished the quilt. Now I sleep under it every night. Luckily I don't have nightmares of GAA or PE class.
